btw, sorry to come across as rude with my defense of M+KB (heh even a better joystick) support for console FPSes.
This issue seems to draw a strong line between certain gamers, but it shouldnt really.
Nice informative blog btw.
It's okay to be comfortable with M&K.
I actually started out with Mouse and Keyboard, and the learning curve on "the sticks" is admittedly steep in comparison. However, I think gamer's M&K comfort is mainly due to having non-gaming practice with the mouse (i.e. navigating Windows/Linux/Solaris or whatever).
In my case, I'm a big fan of trackpoint as opposed to touchpad's on laptops, so that's where my non-gaming experience comes in. Maybe that's why I'm so accepting of "the sticks"?
In the end, I don't find M&K better per se, just easier (the mouse part anyway). I've seen some impressive gamers with the good ol' controller, so I find it hard to believe that M&K is a necessity (as some gamers project).
Thanks for the comment, and thanks for reading!
